As the Abarth 500 Trofeo GB gears up for next season and competitors show growing interest by signing up to the series, another batch of 4 cars has been prepared by Abarth in Turin to be shipped to UK in November.

The first batch of sold cars are already on the way to the UK for the Official ‘Trofeo GB’ launch on the 22nd October at Silverstone.

All the cars are built in Turin and are randomly assigned to the teams with the same quality standards and processes applied to every unit that comes out of the factory. The cars not only go through a typical manufacturer check but are also subject to a shakedown and test at the Fiat Group proving ground in Balocco.

Abarth Turin is building a sufficient stock of cars to cover the demand of the UK market. The Abarth 500 Assetto Corse racing cars will be shipped to UK in batches of four. To arrange for delivery, please contact the organisers to book your car.

The car comes as race ready with four new tyres. All cars are painted with the standard white Abarth racing colour.  A passenger seat option is available on request.

Official Trofeo Abarth 500 GB Launch

22nd October 2009, Silverstone (MAP)

Trofeo Abarth 500 GB in association with Abarth UK will invite drivers, the media and special guests to attend our much anticipated ‘launch event’ at Silverstone on the 22nd October 2009. Between 09:00 and 17:00 at the Stowe Circuit guests will be invited to discuss, test, check, admire and enjoy the new Abarth 500 Assetto Corse racing cars and learn more about the proposed race series for 2010 and beyond.  For testing opportunities on the day – see below.

Since the UK Round of the Trofeo Europe in Brands Hatch, the Abarth 500 Trofeo GB has been the subject of talk in the paddock over the summer. It has been a long journey from the initial idea of organising the series to today. We’ve collected feedback from drivers, teams and sponsors in order to create a series by the competitors for the competitors.

The organisers are now proud to “unveil” the Trofeo details for the 2010 season. The Championship Launch will showcase the first batch of racing cars sold and sent to UK. The first teams and drivers signed up for the series will also be on hand.

The 500 Abarth Trofeo Europe visited the UK on July 19^th, 2009.  The event, held at Brands Hatch, was the perfect chance for UK drivers to test the Abarth 500 AC. Five drivers from very different paddocks got their hands on the wheel of the car:

• Freddy Nordstrom – Seat Copa
• Rupert Svendson-Cook – Formula BMW
• Jeff Smith – Clio Cup
• Adam Jones – BTCC
• Mitch Millet – GT Cup

Each driver has provided fantastic feedback that has been useful in proving the genuine quality of the machinery and the helping shape the series format.

Abarth Trofeo races are naturally very entertaining with a close competition. The drivers also commented on the good base set-up for the car making it extremely well balanced.

The Brands Hatch event also helped to showcase the reliability of the car in relation to body panels and mechanical reliability.

The organisers would like to welcome Coastal Racing as the first team to sign-up to the series. Carl Bradley, team manager and driver, has been interested in the series for a while and now he has now committed to run a multiple car team in the 2010  Trofeo Abarth 500 GB.

Coastal Team has been racing successfully in the Mini Challenge and the Clio Cup, and they are now ready to take up on a bigger challenge with the high profile Trofeo.
